Ski touring and avalanche courses in the Dolomites for more safety in the snow
Assess risk with mountain and ski guide Andy Schäfer and learn how to behave correctly in an avalanche.
Ski touring and freestyle skiing have experienced a great boom in recent years, and rightly so, because the breath-taking beauty of the snow-covered landscapes, the absolute tranquillity far away from the marked ski slopes and the adrenaline-pumping descents into deep snow transform every route into a unique experience. But the snow also hides a lot of dangers, and it’s essential to be aware of this in order to prepare yourself adequately to safely complete your routes.
In these safety courses, which consist of both theory and practise, we’ll learn the safety basics to make independent decisions, assess the possible danger of avalanches and be able to react correctly and quickly in risky situations. We will also practise route selection and managing your avalanche beacon.
